This letter aims at discussing the current massive challenges with the therapeutic development and drug discovery from the medicinal plants of Sabah (East Malaysia) and the Third World in general. Various sociological, geopolitical, ecological, historical, and ethnological aspects are being presented. Solutions are proposed.
